Kellie Rixon MBE FIH
Kellie has always been in the hospitality industry, in roles that have ranged from operations to HR, working for many big hotel companies, including De Vere and Macdonald Hotels.
At De Vere, a unique hospitality school for young people across the UK was created and brought in some people on the cusp of society into the industry; What started with just 12 kids by the end, had 13,000 people through the door.
In 2012, Kellie was involved in a serious road traffic accident and her son received life-threatening injuries. In the same year, she was awarded an MBE and a Fellowship from the Institute. “That kind of experience changes everything about who you are and what you do – I did not want to spend one moment of my working life not doing something I love. I was done with pension reviews and managing payroll. I wanted to spend my working life helping shape the future of businesses through their people.” says Kellie.
In 2015, Rixon Associates was launched; their aim is to help organisations articulate the culture of their business so that their values align with their productivity through engagement. Great business is all about culture and that will sustain an organisation through times of challenge; when a company’s culture is defined and strong, people feel ownership of that.
Robert Richardson FIH
General Manager of The Cave Hotel & Golf Resort, located near the City of Canterbury, Kent. Robert has a proven track record for achieving commercial and operational success and has a well-established reputation for people development.
Robert is recipient of several industry recognised awards, and this year achieved a place on the 2020 Boutique Hotelier Industry Powerlist as a “Young Trailblazer”.
Robert is a strong advocate of educating people towards a career in hospitality, and his #InspiringHospitalityTalent initiatives have seen him collaborate with The Savoy, Harrods and The Dorchester Collection, to name but a few.
Adam Rowledge FIH
Adam is an organisational culture, leadership and employee experience keynote speaker and the Managing Director of Rowledge Associates, a consultancy and training business which supports companies to achieve competitive advantage by putting their people first. A former hotelier, Adam has won a number of prestigious industry awards including being previously named Independent Hotelier of the Year.
