Business Partner News | Independent Hotel Show London 2026 celebrates excellence

15 October 2026

Independent Hotel Show London returned to Olympia London on 5 – 6 October 2026, bringing together the independent and boutique hotel community for two days of networking, industry insight, innovation and celebration.

This year’s event explored the opportunities and challenges shaping hospitality, from AI and automation to evolving guest expectations, personalised service and the potential impact of tourist levies.

The Institute of Hospitality once again exhibited at the show, welcoming a steady stream of visitors to its stand. The event provided a valuable opportunity for the IoH team to catch up with existing members, meet new faces from across the industry and connect with the wider hospitality community.

Across three seminar stages, hoteliers, designers and industry experts shared practical insights to help businesses adapt to changing trends, strengthen operations and enhance the guest experience. Exhibitors also showcased products and services spanning interiors, technology, food and beverage, and guest experience.

The event celebrated outstanding achievements through the Independent Hotel Show Awards, in partnership with Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Winners included The Grand, York, which received Independent Hotel of the Year – Over 50 Rooms, and Cromlix, named Independent Hotel of the Year – Under 50 Rooms. Charlotte Smiley and Kim Hanks won Hotel Design of the Year for The Old Bell Hotel, while Isaac Arikawe of Grantley Hall was named Hotel Rising Star. Simon Numphud FIH, Managing Director of AA Media, received the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award.

Alongside the Institute of Hospitality, the show welcomed charity partners Furnishing Futures, Hospitality Action and Room to Reward, highlighting the wider community supporting the hospitality sector.

Looking ahead, the 2027 edition will introduce Wellbeing by IH, a new destination exploring how physical, mental and emotional wellbeing can be integrated into the hotel guest experience. Topics will extend beyond traditional spa and gym facilities to include sleep, lighting, room design, nutrition, mental wellbeing and technology.
