The Institute of Hospitality has released the results of its 2026 global member survey, showing strong confidence in its role, communication and impact across the profession, with 87% of members clear about what the Institute does, reinforcing its position as a trusted professional body supporting hospitality careers worldwide.

Members also confirmed the continued importance of the Institute’s core services, with the monthly newsletter remaining the primary channel for staying connected and the Institute’s events, professional development and CPD content highly valued.
Commenting on the results, Robert Richardson FIH MI, CEO of the Institute of Hospitality, said: “These results show that our members understand our role and value the support we provide throughout their careers. It is particularly encouraging to see strong confidence in how we communicate and in our ability to represent and raise the profile of the profession globally.
He continued: “Insights from the 2026 survey will inform future activity, helping to strengthen member value, participation and professional standards across the industry. We will continue to build on this by increasing and expanding how we work with our inspirational members, the wider hospitality industry and related sectors, as we work to place hospitality, and the people within it, at the heart of the global economy.”
The Institute of Hospitality supports more than 17,000 members globally through professional development, mentoring, networking and professional recognition programmes across 24 countries.
