The IoH as a Supporting Partner of WRAP’s Guardians of Grub has pledged to help feed people not bins, as part of the hospitality industry’s efforts to reduce food waste, help people, the planet and lower costs.

Wasted food across the hospitality industry costs businesses over £3.2 billion a year, and with 75% of that waste still completely edible, the IoH is encouraging all its members to get involved.

Over 1.1 million tonnes of food are thrown away by the Hospitality and Food Service industry every year. Even the smallest change can make a difference in these challenging times, and there has never been more pressure to manage costs and focus on managing food waste that now.
