Our friends at United Gas and Power (UGP) have told us they strongly welcome the UK Government’s Energy Bill Relief Scheme support package which will reduce wholesale energy costs for an initial six months for business users.
They shared this news and that there will be a review of the Energy Bill Relief Scheme, to be published in three months’ time, to assess the extent that the support package could be extended and further targeted for specific business users.
The UK government will provide a discount on Wholesale Gas and Electricity unit prices for non-domestic energy consumers across Great Britain. The scheme will run from 1 October 2022 – 31 March 2023.
The Support will automatically be applied to all eligible customers and bills. Customers do not need to take action or apply for the discount. The first discounts will be applied to October 2022 invoices, which customers will receive in November 2022.
