Study an IoH professional qualification with the University of Derby

The Institute of Hospitality has partnered with the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH) and learning delivery partner the University of Derby, to offer IoH members, who hold MIH or FIH post-nominal grading, direct entry to the professional online, CTH (IoH) Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Hospitality Management.

CTH, the leading specialist professional qualifications awarding organisation for the Hospitality and Tourism sectors and the IoH, have joined forces to offer this unique professional accredited, qualification to help talented hospitality professionals develop their management skills and progress their careers with a formal accredited qualification.

What does the course cover?

The CTH (IoH) Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Hospitality Management will allow candidates to:

• develop an understanding of how different business disciplines relate to each other in the wider context of business management
• gain an understanding of the strategies used to run a business and the impact of effective leaders and managers within an organisation
• develop your understanding of the key role staff and staff development plays within the success of a business
• develop a critical understanding of the role financial management plays within an organisation
• the laws which affect the hospitality industry
• and the management of consumer expectations and behaviour.

Who should apply?

This professional course is open to any candidates who:

• have worked or are currently working in the hospitality sector at supervisory, junior-level management roles or have some line management responsibility and are not a member of the Institute, but require a formal qualification to progress to more senior positions
• Or hold the Institute’s MIH or FIH post-nominal grading (as proof of their professional skills and experience providing exemption from the Level 3 Diploma)
