The Institute of Hospitality (IoH) has announced it is running an annual charity golf day, starting at the iconic Belfry Hotel & Resort near Birmingham on Thursday 19 May 2022 and is calling for Four-Ball teams.
The event, sponsored by Caterer.com, is the result of a partnership between the IoH and Denis Sheehan and his team at H&C News, who successfully ran the H&C News Golf Day on behalf of The Clink charity earlier this year.
Aiming to raise substantial funds for the IoH’s Youth Council initiative, which provides mentoring, networking and professional development support to young hospitality professionals, IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH said: “This event combines a great day of golf at a superb venue, a fantastic dinner, a charity auction and social evening while raising funds for the IoH’s Youth Council.”
The IoH’s Youth Council, called ‘Aspiring in Hospitality’, launched earlier this year, is part of the Institute’s Diversity and Inclusion strategy which aims to encourage and mentor young talent into the hospitality industry at a time when the industry is crying out for new professionals. The Youth Council was shortlisted last week as one of three finalists for the prestigious 2021 UK & Ireland Chartered Governance Institute Awards for the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year.
As Robert confirmed: “I look forward to welcoming members of the IoH family to The Belfry to raise funds at this event. There has never been a better time to support the IoH’s work, with talent scarce in the sector, this is a reality we all need to face and tackle now and for years to come for our industry to thrive. We’re delighted that our friends at Caterer.com and H&C News are partnering with us on this important event and in enabling its delivery.”
Kathy Dyball, Brand Director, Caterer.com commented; “The IoH are an essential cornerstone for the hospitality sector, with an increasingly diverse audience and the ability to impact the professional development of so many. At a time when the industry is standing up together and moving forward with strength, the IoH is critical. Many aren’t aware that the IoH are a charity, and so the funds raised by this golf day will help them deliver ever more relevant resources and help even more people in the sector to progress. Caterer.com are proud to be partnering in this excellent event. It’s always a pleasure to work with the team at H&C News and of course the superb team at IoH. We hope to see you there!”
A Four-Ball Team including a three-course celebratory dinner is £895 +VAT.
