Free NHS Talking Therapies will ‘Help’ mental health

23 February 2022

In support of NHS England’s current mental health ‘Help’ campaign, the IoH is helping to highlight to its members that feelings of anxiety and depression can affect us all, and the NHS is here to help.

As life gets back to normal and we get used to living with COVID-19,  people in the hospitality industry are still experiencing mental health issues and have not reached out for support.

The NHS provides a range of talking therapies for common mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, which are free, effective and confidential.

NHS Talking therapies, also known as IAPT – Improved Access to Psychological Therapies are being offered in the form of a self-help workbook with therapist support, an online course, over the phone, one to one or as a group. Appointments with therapists are all confidential and help is in-person, by video, telephone and/or interactive text communications.

Famous faces from across music and radio, including Craig David, Tom Grennan, Laura Mvula, Nicola Roberts, Ella Henderson, Max George, as well as an NHS therapist and real people who have benefited from the NHS mental health Talking Therapy services are supporting the campaign.

Anyone struggling with mental health issues is being encouraged to contact the NHS directly or contact their GP who can refer them.
