If you’ve been sobbing every time the new John Lewis #ManontheMoon Christmas ad comes on the telly, then you’re not alone. But instead of reaching for a tissue, why not make a difference – in less than a minute – and sign this Meals On Wheels petition? Your support could bring some comfort and joy to real people who rely on the service’s hot meals and companionship.
During this, Meals on Wheels Week (9 – 13 Nov 2015), the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) has launched it’s petition calling for the Meals on Wheels service to be protected in UK statutory law. Ongoing budget cuts are affecting the service’s provision and many services have been closed down or significantly reduced because Meals on Wheels is currently discretionary.
The Institute of Hospitality encourages everyone in the industry, along with their friends, family and colleagues, to support the NACC’s petition. If the petition gets over over 100,000 signatures during the next 6 months it can be debated in Parliament.
So help some of the neediest people all year round by signing the petition here: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/111854 And if you love the John Lewis ad, why not make a donation to Age UK, too.
