Business Partner News | Inspired’s new hospitality energy management guide

29 July 2026

The Institute has joined forces with IoH Business Partner, Inspired, to produce ‘All-inclusive‘, a comprehensive energy management guide to help hospitality businesses manage and reduce their energy costs.

Starting with how to procure your energy, the guide explores practical ways to cut unnecessary usage to reduce your consumption costs, looks at unusual usage, and helps you take informed next steps about efficiencies, before turning to EV infrastructure and the case for treating energy efficiency as a team effort.

Simon Williams, Business Development Manager at Inspired, said: “Hospitality businesses navigate rising operational costs and growing compliance requirements, while remaining among the first to feel the impacts of external disruption, from energy market volatility to public health events and cost-of-living pressures.

“The industry finds itself at a pivotal moment, facing tightening margins and growing expectations around environmental performance, without losing sight of why guests return.

“Delivering an exceptional guest experience takes energy, and businesses all have very different requirements. That is where an expert partner can help. Inspired’s partnership with the Institute of Hospitality is all about offering IoH members practical solutions grounded in a solid understanding of the challenges the wider sector faces.

All-inclusive was written to help businesses assess their own operations against real insight, from making informed procurement decisions to building an extensive picture of consumption across your estate.”

Water savings

The guide also examines the real savings potential for water. Water runs through every aspect of a hospitality business, and with increasing wholesale water costs in April 2026, it adds to an already rising utility trend.

Yet water could offer greater percentage savings than gas or electricity through fixing leaks and installing water-saving devices. Water will only gain prominence in energy management, and getting ahead of the curve sets businesses apart and signals commitment to sustainability.

All-inclusive draws on real-world results: a hotel and spa complex saving over 54,000 kWh a year through circuit-level monitoring, a multinational fast-food chain saving £34,000 per year through consumption savings, and an energy site audit uncovering numerous opportunities for a coastal hotel. Each demonstrates the value of a tailored approach.
