Belu Water has announced a new total of £6.1 million in net profits going to WaterAid, as part of an ongoing partnership with the global water charity that started in 2011.
Each year on World Water Day (22 March), Belu adds to its ongoing total of net profits given to WaterAid, reflecting the combined efforts of the hospitality and workplace partners that form the ‘Belu Collective’. Their 2024 net profit figure was £283,690, bringing the total given to £6.1 million which has helped to transform 410,938 lives over the 14 years of the partnership.
For background, Belu is a purpose-driven social enterprise with a mission to prove that sustainability and environmental responsibility can be at the heart of good business. It supplies hotels, restaurants, workplaces and catering providers with premium British mineral water and water filtration systems, donating 100% of its profits to WaterAid to help provide clean water and change lives worldwide.
As part of Belu’s partnership with WaterAid, profits generated by hospitality partners such as The PIG Hotels and Corinthia London and workplace partners including Zurich, directly support WaterAid’s mission to provide clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to communities worldwide.
Belu gives to WaterAid on an unrestricted basis, which means the charity can allocate funds to the places and projects most in need. WaterAid works with communities to introduce practical, future proof solutions which ultimately deliver improved health, increased school attendance, stronger community ties, thriving crops and restored dignity. Organisations like WaterAid are increasingly looking to corporate partners and businesses to work with them on an ongoing basis to deliver much needed funding.
As the UK’s most sustainable water company, Belu’s mission is to change the way the world sees water and drive progress toward universal access to clean drinking water. Revenue from every Belu filter tap and bottle of mineral water flows through the company’s unique ‘Purpose P&L’, and all of its products are industry leading for sustainability.
With 66% of UK consumers considering an organisation’s social and environmental impact when making a purchase decision, positive change in water security and the generation of new commercial opportunities can be mutually reinforcing ambitions.
Since 2007, Belu has led by example, proving that it’s possible to build a thriving business while prioritising people and planet. Through its ‘Belu Collective’ – a network of hospitality businesses and workspaces who choose Belu because it is ‘Served with Purpose’ – Belu is helping to build a future where water is managed responsibly, both throughout their supply chains and for those in need worldwide.
Charlotte Harrington, Co-CEO of Belu says: “It is a privilege for Belu to partner with WaterAid to bring about change for so many communities around the world. We are deeply committed to our partnership; investing in equitable access to clean water and solutions to tackle the climate crisis is an investment into a sustainable future for all. Thank you to our partners and advocates for making this milestone possible. Together, we’re changing the way the world sees water.”
This World Water Day, Belu is more committed than ever to pushing boundaries, driving change, and proving that sustainable business isn’t just possible, it’s the way forward.
