30 July 2026

A trio of talented chefs from Loughborough College have been crowned winners of the prestigious Zest Quest Asia competition, founded and led by IoH Fellow and renowned chef Cyrus Todiwala OBE DL FIH and his wife, Pervin Todiwala FIH.

Tom Brassington, Lewis McLeman and Cameron McGinty wowed judges with their bold Korean-inspired menu, featuring dishes like Bibimbap with Gochujang fried rice and a Doenjang mousse dessert. Their standout performance also earned them the Murray Chapman Least Wastage and Best Menu Planning Awards at the Zest Quest Asia 2025 finals, held at the Hilton London Wembley on 4th April.

Their tutor, Grace McGreal (a former finalist herself) was there to celebrate the team’s victory.

Sheffield College’s Seth Shipston, Sophia Fleming and Ava Bower-Scott were named runners-up, while University of West London’s Nathan Vasanthan was honoured with the first-ever Most Successful Lecturer Award for guiding three champion teams.

Guest speaker Tom Kerridge praised the students for embracing one of the world’s most exciting industries, highlighting Zest Quest Asia’s role in broadening their culinary horizons.

Chair of judges Steve Munkley called this year’s competition “a level up” and encouraged more colleges to get involved.

Co-founder Cyrus Todiwala OBE DL FIH celebrated a record number of entrants and said Loughborough’s upcoming trip to Hong Kong and China marks “a truly proud moment.”
