Created by the Master Innholders (MI), this prestigious award recognises individuals with the drive and passion to become a hotel general manager.
The GM of the Future award has a proven track record of boosting careers. Past winners have included Chris Bancroft, Hotel Operations Manager at The Newt in Somerset, and Karen de Koning MIH IS, General Manager at the Grove of Narberth.

Clarke FIH MI, Chair of the Master Innholders, said: “Now in its sixth year, the GM of the Future Award has been a major success in showcasing and celebrating talented junior hoteliers and has become an important part of our work in providing training and development opportunities for promising hoteliers.
“Our organisation cares deeply about nurturing young talent in hospitality and keeping the industry alive for passionate future generations, and this award is another vital step in helping passionate hoteliers achieve their goals.”
How to Apply
Candidates must submit an application form, which includes an endorsement from a line manager. Applicants will need to demonstrate their expertise and passion for the industry, with questions focused on leadership, innovation and giving back.
Entries will be judged by a panel of Master Innholders and key industry figures, and shortlisted candidates will receive a complimentary ticket to attend the 2026 Hotel Leadership Conference on 19-20 January at the London Hilton on Park Lane. To include attending the black-tie dinner, where the winner will be revealed.
The deadline for submissions is 31 October 2025.
