We are delighted to announce that Katariina Reissaar MIH, our IoH Youth Council Chair and Joint Regional Secretary for the Institute’s London Region, has been appointed Director of Operations at The Royal Air Force Club effective from Monday 12 August 2024.
Katariina joined The RAF Club last year as Front Office Manager and led the front office team from strength to strength, recently achieving Department of the Quarter for Q1, under her leadership.
She also achieved a prestigious ‘Acorn Award’ in 2023 recognising her as one of the top 30 hospitality professionals under the age of 30.
Miles Pooley FIH MI, Chief Executive at The Royal Air Force Club said: “Since joining, Katariina has worked incredibly hard and improved our working practices and built a strong team in a short period of time. She is an incredible talent and has already made a significant contribution to the Club’. We are delighted she will now step into this new role with enthusiasm, and passion and extend the same level of commitment to this role as she has to her current one.”
As IoH Youth Council Chair, her skills, passion, hard work and commitment have been apparent for many years. IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI commented: “Katariina has inspired many young people to enter and remain in the hospitality industry. She is a true hospitality professional and I know she will continue to excel in her new role. Myself and the IoH team are absolutely delighted for her and so proud. She is a real hospitality star.”
Katariina’s hospitality career has included working in the USA, Malaysia and in Birmingham with Leonardo Hotels.
