New Fellows celebrate at Fellows’ Dinner

14 February 2019

The great and the good of the UK hospitality industry were out in force for the Institute of Hospitality Fellows’ Dinner this week. Out of a total of 210 guests, 39 new Fellows celebrated their new status and were welcomed into the Institute’s Fellowship community.

New Fellows were presented with certificates by the Institute’s chief executive Peter Ducker FIH, president Alastair Storey MBE FIH, and chairman Robin Sheppard FIH.

Peter Ducker FIH said: “The Fellows Dinner is always a high spot in our calendar. This year it felt extra special. The Savoy Hotel were absolutely on top of their game, food and service were superb, and of course the Ballroom is just such a beautiful venue.

It was also a special event because we introduced 39 new Fellows – half of our 2018 intake to the College of Fellows. With an average age of 46 there was a real feeling that the new generation of leaders are taking their place.”

Twitter was flooded with positive comments about this hospitality networking highlight of the year.

Paula Rogers FIH, founder of Admiral Recruitment, said: “A wonderful evening at the beautiful Savoy with Vacherin, Lexington, Blue Apple, Tim West FIH, Marc Verstringhe FIH, WSH group and Simon Esner FIH amongst many of the distinguished guests and companies.”

Stephen Broome FIH, lead hotel consultant for PWC, said: “Great to catch up with Kelly Rixon MBE FIH and John Donaldson FIH at the Savoy tonight.”

The Fellows’ Dinner 2019 took place at The Savoy, London, on Tuesday evening (12 February).
