Robin Sheppard FIH, chairman and co-founder of Bespoke Hotels, has been appointed as chairman of the Institute’s Supervisory Board.
Sheppard brings with him 40 years of experience in the sector, having built Bespoke Hotels to become the largest independent hotel group in the UK representing over 200 properties.
“It is a great honour and extremely humbling experience to have been nominated by the Institute,” commented Sheppard. “It is so valuable for managers across the hotel sector to be able to inspire one another, share expertise and knowledge, as well as to meet and socialise. The Institute of Hospitality has always been a tremendous vehicle for this, and I hope to provide many more opportunities for members to learn from one another in future.”
Sheppard has long been a vocal and active member of the Institute. He is also one of the driving forces behind the Bespoke Access Awards and the improvement of hotel design for those with disabilities.
The Supervisory Board also welcomes new members Paul Gilley FIH, recruitment specialist with PJ Search & Selection and organiser of the London Hospitality Festival, and Peter Forrest FIH, former procurement manager, Transport for London.
The Institute is extremely grateful for the dedication and hard work of our outgoing chairman Stephen Kyjak Lane FIH MI and outgoing members Heather Lishman FIH, Ian Doughty FIH, Paul Brackley FIH and Chris Moore FIH who have completed their terms of service.
