Institute of Hospitality Magazine | Latest issue out today

10 June 2026

The Institute of Hospitality Magazine is out today, and our editor Catherine Chetwynd MIH tells us what to expect inside the brand new issue of our IoH Magazine.

This edition runs the gamut of hospitality and IoH matters, from a charity helping people experiencing homelessness into employment to our own Hearts in Hospitality initiative, which celebrates the sector’s unsung heroes. We also hear from Sacha Lord FIH on why hospitality must work together to protect jobs, businesses and the future of the industry, while Michael Kill FIH reflects on the growing influence of the night-time economy.

‘The customer is always right’ is an outdated mantra when guests get combative and our expert suggests an alternative and empowering approach for employees. When senior people are made redundant, they must work their network, be proactive and remain relevant, according to our hospitality leaders. And we hear about a hotel in Northamptonshire where staff retention levels are impressive and how this can be replicated.

We also launch a new health and wellbeing series with personal trainer Jordan Petts, who explores why sleep is the foundation of better health and performance. Finally, we look at how to ensure safety and security policies are watertight and functioning in hotels, clubs and nighttime venues.

All this and much more inside our latest issue. As always, we welcome your feedback!
