The Institute of Hospitality’s London Branch held its Aspiring Manager Awards on Friday 7th November 2014 at the lovely Wivenhoe House Hotel. Located on the University of Essex campus, which also houses the Edge Hotel School, the Edge’s students showcased their events management skills by running the event. Guests were greeted with a sparkling wine reception followed by a delicious meal, the presentation of the Awards – including the first Aspiring Student Award. The celebrations then continued with a fantastic Michael Bublé tribute act!
Our heartiest congratulations go to award winners:
- Nitin Padwar, Sous Chef, The Cavendish Hotel
- Sarah Bowman, Conference and Events Manager, Wivenhoe House Hotel
- Sam Masters, Student, City College Norwich
The winners received their Aspiring Manager Award trophy and certificate, a one year’s membership of the Institute of Hospitality, a luxury weekend hotel break and the opportunity to coach a student – or be coached as a student – on the London Branch’s popular Coaching Programme.

All of the events guests also received an exclusive gift from the event’s generous sponsor Bespoke Brewery.
Next year the Aspiring Manager and Student Awards 2015 will be held at The Savoy on 23rd October 2015 and in the new year I will be announcing how the nomination process will be changing.
