HRC Connects, the digital platform for Hotel, Restaurant & Catering, has unveiled its upcoming autumn online content programme, with a focus on sustainability, staffing and the future of hospitality.
The HRC Connects platform was launched in early 2020 as a new resource for the foodservice and hospitality industry. In addition to providing the buyers who attend Hotel, Restaurant & Catering with a convenient, searchable database of key industry suppliers, the platform also hosts year-round thought leadership content such as webinars, articles, reports and more.
September’s seminar programme kicks off with ‘Disrupting the status quo to achieve a truly sustainable future’ on 9 September at 11am, with Neil Shackleton of Medoola and David Newman of the Bio-Based and Biodegradable Industries Association. The session will be exploring the innovation contributing to the circular economy and looking at how the food and drink sector can contribute to a sustainable post-pandemic world.
On 14 September at 3pm Juliane Caillouette-Noble of the Sustainable Restaurant Association will be joined by Hamish Stoddart of Peach Pubs, Jonathan Lockett of Pizza Hut Restaurants, Sandy Jarvis of The Culpeper Family Hospitality Group and Simon Mussett of Sodexo UK&I for ‘The road to net-zero: Future-proofing your hospitality business’.
In 2019 the UK became the first major economy to pass a net zero emissions law, with a target of bringing all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2015. This session will evaluate the road to this ambitious target and explain what changes hospitality businesses need to make right now to meet future sustainability goals.
Caillouette-Noble commented: “We are very keen to host conversations and bring people together to help them to share ideas, find solutions and collaborate on meeting the long-term challenges of climate change, diversity and how we use food as a force for good.”
Also on the agenda is ‘Furlough no more: The aftermath of the F Word!’ on 23 September at 10am. The countdown is on until furlough ends in the UK, and it’s important that hospitality businesses are prepared. This session will see Suzanne Green of HB Leisure, Dawn Redman and Hospitality Job UK and Jill Whittaker of HIT Training discuss how to attract and retain employees during this tumultuous time.
On 29 September at 11am the ‘Food Industry 4.0’ will kick off. Technology disruptors are changing the supply chain post pandemic. In this session The Osservatori Digital Innovation team will be showcasing some of the top European companies and collaborations at the forefront of supply chain transformation.
HRC Connects will be hosting a series of webinars and articles in the coming months, covering a range of topics vital to the hospitality and foodservice industry as it continues to recover from the effects of the past 18 months and looks to the future.
In addition to upcoming content the platform also had a wide range of on-demand webinars and articles, including On-Trade’s top tips to bring customers back to pubs and bars and insights into reducing customer food waste from Too Good To Go.
