Episode 11 of our official IoH I’m In Podcast is available to members today!
Ahhhh, Innovation. It’s all around us. But can it always be considered a good thing?
To find out, Phil was once again joined by three wonderful IoH members in Maria Lopez-Casado AIH, Andrew Di Sora MIH and James McComas FIH. Before we got tucked into our main course subject, our members once again gave us their brilliant reasons for saying #imin to the IoH which included:
- Networking
- Connect with leaders
- Learning
- Reminder you are part of something bigger than yourself
- Collaboration and camaraderie
- Giving back
- The international network
- Live events
Moving onto the main topic of discussion: Future innovation, there were some great points raised including:
- It’s important to analyse all areas of your business and see where improvements can be made through innovation
- Innovation can be a small change, doesn’t always have to be a huge move
- Innovation can come from anyone within your organisation
- Take each challenge on its own merits
- Hospitality can be a hotbed for innovation as it is forever changing
- Keeping on top of consumer trends can help you see where innovations are coming
- In pursuit of innovation, always ensure you are protecting the here and now
- Innovation should be about making guests’ and teams’ experiences better
- Keeping yourself updated on what is out there is key
- You don’t have to go full-on into full-scale innovation. Phased innovation can be just as effective and sometimes necessary
- Innovation has a different meaning for everyone
- Today’s innovations often become tomorrow’s norms
- Keep innovation as part of your overall journey, not your destination
As always, a huge thank you to our guests for giving up their time and opinion.
Enjoy!
