The Hospitality Hero awards will reward individuals and business that really made a difference during the last 18 months due to the pandemic
Nominations are now open! Our Southern Branch welcome any business or individual from across the Southern region to apply. Nominations are open until 18 October 2021. A panel of Hospitality professionals will judge the nominations with finalists being notified shortly after.
The winner will then be announced at a live awards ceremony at the Balmer Lawn Hotel.
There are 5 categories:
- Most innovative response to the pandemic – Sponsored by Balmer Lawn Hotel The nominees for this category identified an opportunity to support or strengthen their community, their business or their personal and professional being during the pandemic and as a result they have had a positive impact in the Hospitality Industry.
- Community effort/engagement – Sponsored by Lye Farm
The nominees for this category perceived potential issues within the local community they and their business belong to. They put their energy and effort into ensuring community spirit, resilience and support for the most vulnerable people. This individual or team, as a result, went above and beyond just representing their business corporate and social responsibility. - Work related achievement – Sponsored by BH Area Hospitality Association
The nominees for this category realised that their employer was facing uncertain times and proactively made a stand out effort to support / improve / enhance / diversify the business. As a result, the business has been supported and is on a positive path to recovery after the pandemic. - Leadership award – Sponsored by Bournemouth and Poole College
The nominees for this category have taken the opportunity to instil positive change in the Hospitality Industry through their teams or an individual. As a result, employees, employers and suppliers will be able to build a more resilient Hospitality Industry for themselves and their business future. - Unsung hero – Sponsored by Southampton Hotel Association
The nominees for this category have worked hard, selflessly and knowingly unrecognised to ensure that others were on a better position during these difficult times.
The IoH Southern branch have previously hosted an awards ceremony focusing on education and young people in the industry and they look to return to these awards in 2022/2023.
