>>Next-level career development for future hoteliers

The Master Innholders set professional standards in hotel management and proactively help shape and inspire the hospitality industry.

Established in 1978, the Master Innholders influence standards and extend professionalism within the industry, promoting consideration, study, discussion and research in the areas affecting hotel management.

To support the message of development throughout the hotel industry at a critical time in our industry, the Master Innholders established sought-after training programme, the Aspiring Leaders Diploma (MIALD).

Quality assured by a prestigious Princess Royal Training Award and endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality, the MIALD offers junior management professionals a valuable professional and personal development experience.

Designed to develop management skills, leadership talent and build career prospects, the MIALD covers eight key business areas: Professional Development, Business Management, Service Operations Management, Marketing and Sales, Financial Management, People Management, Team Management, and Leadership.

The year-long programme combines mixed teaching in the form of group workshops, back-to-work activities, private study, project work, best practice visits and carefully chosen guest speakers, resulting in an internationally and industry recognised Level 3 Award from the Institute of Leadership & Management.

Raul Deflorian MIH, Front of House Manager at 45 Park Lane believes the course supported him to the next level in his career: “The MIALD has been without a doubt, the most enriching and empowering professional experience that I have ever had the opportunity to partake. It was exactly the type of springboard that I was looking to find in order to progress my career and make that very important jump from operational management into leadership. The lessons learned over the year long programme, as well as the multitude of friendships and professional connections developed during the course, have been vital for my continued growth, both on a professional as well as on a personal level.”

Each module of the course is taught at a different outstanding property, with past locations including Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel London, Pennyhill Park Hotel & Spa, The Lowry Hotel Manchester and the Victory Services Club.

The applications for the MIALD are now open and will close 21 February 2020.
