ITV Anglia talks to Linden Beattie FIH and Kate Nicholls FIH about the staffing shortage crisis

IoH Fellow Linden Beattie FIH was recently interviewed on ITV Anglia to talk about the staff shortage crisis happening in the hospitality industry.

Linden Beattie, General Manager at The Waterfront Hotel, Spa & Golf told ITV; “Since restrictions have been eased we’ve definitely been faced with a few more challenges recruiting throughout the business, kitchen and front of house teams have been especially difficult.”

Kate Nicholls FIH, Chief Executive of UKHospitality was also interviewed… she said; “There is no doubt that we have a labour shortage in the UK, we did before COVID, we’ve had a net outflow of foreign born workers back home and therefore we have a genuine labour shortage and will hopefully almost return to a full labour market.”
