Visit Somerset and the IoH have launched a new partnership to help promote professional development and networking opportunities to local Somerset tourism businesses, as well as, a range of additional benefits for members of both organisations.
At the Visit Somerset AGM and Conference this week, IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI spoke via video, confirming: “As a previous GM from a tourism destination, I fully understand the pressures and challenges areas like Somerset have. By working with the IoH, we aim to help a wealth of tourism businesses, through Visit Somerset, with continuing professional development.”
Visit Somerset is owned and operated by the Somerset Tourism Association, a community interest company, run by private sector businesses to benefit visitors, local tourism businesses and their customers. Promoting Somerset as a holiday destination for UK and international visitors, Visit Somerset provides essential information to tourists on where to stay, what to do and places to visit.
Sam Coulstock FIH, Head of Professional Development, who was a speaker at the conference said: “It is great to work with the forward-thinking, passionate team at Visit Somerset. They have the region’s best interest at heart and we are sure that both local businesses and professionals will benefit from this relationship.”
Working together, the IoH and Visit Somerset will be encouraging local Somerset businesses, professionals and IoH members to access opportunities including, events, training, webinars, blogs, and expert papers.
