Andrew Boer FIH, Dr Anthony Brien FIH, Dr Ariane Lengyel, and Professor Lisa Wyld FIH were appointed following a competitive selection process. Together they bring a strong mix of academic expertise, industry insight and external examining experience. Their role will be to review professional programmes of study applying for IoH International Professional Accreditation, alongside professional development training programmes and products seeking IoH International Professional Endorsement.
The Institute currently provides professional recognition to more than 1,100 programmes and qualifications, delivered by 99 providers across 23 countries. Working under the direction of panel chair Professor Peter A Jones MBE FIH, and alongside other panel members, the new appointees will help ensure the Institute’s governance framework remains robust and consistent. The panel also meets annually to review activity and agree on future review guidelines.
Introducing the new panel members
Andrew Boer FIH is a Consultant and former Head of Department and Associate Professor at Edge Hotel School, University of Essex (UK). He was appointed in recognition of his extensive experience in academic review, quality assurance, and international accreditation work.
Dr Anthony Brien FIH is Associate Professor, Business and Hotel Management at Lincoln University (New Zealand). He was appointed in recognition of his professional insight and strong approach to quality.
Dr Ariane Lengyel is a Senior Lecturer, and Academic Quality Lead at University of West London (UK), who also acts as Secretary for EMEA CHRIE. Her industry knowledge, clear communication style and external examining experience will support the clarity and value of the feedback to applicants.
Professor Lisa Wyld FIH is Associate Dean (Education), College of Leadership and Innovation and Professor of Hospitality Innovation and Leadership at Buckinghamshire New University (UK), who also acts as Honorary Secretary for CHME. She brings a balanced combination of academic leadership and industry understanding to the panel’s work.
