IoH confirms accreditation for University of Wolverhampton

27 January 2023

The IoH has awarded accreditation for five years to the University of Wolverhampton for their undergraduate degree programmes in international hospitality management, tourism management, and their postgraduate degree programme in international tourism and hospitality management.

These exciting and innovative programmes are designed to develop practical and management skills as well as analytical and evaluation skills that can be applied to real-world situations and which are vital to modern organisations in the global hospitality and tourism industries. The courses aim to develop employability skills through learning experiences, focusing on four pillars that underpin the programmes: innovation and enterprise, sustainability, responsibility and digital.

The Professional Review Panel commended the programmes and, in particular:

  • the activity-based, enquiry-led, student-centred learning curricula at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • the introduction of a Foundation Year, and a Sandwich Placement for the BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management.
  • the assessment strategy that is not based on students sitting final formal examinations.
  • the choice of style of project (academic or practical) for the Master’s programme.
  • the availability of Academic Coaches providing dedicated and bespoke personal tutoring.
  • the extensive range of well-defined university policies and procedures.
  • the Student Voice mechanism ensuring students have a say in their university experience.

Amanda Ross AIH, Programme Leader at University of Wolverhampton Business School said, “We are delighted to receive accreditation for our International Hospitality and Tourism Management programmes from the IoH in recognition of our quality  programmes and the high standards of our institution.
