Big changes are on the horizon for leadership training funding in the UK, and time is running out to take advantage of current opportunities.
From January 2026, government funding for the Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship is expected to be restricted to learners under the age of 22 at the point of enrolment. This means that for the majority of professionals and employers, the window to access fully funded, MBA-level training is closing fast.
If you’re a hospitality business owner, employer or aspiring executive, this could be your final opportunity to invest in high-level leadership development without the financial burden.
Delivered by HIT Training’s leadership and management division, the Executive Development Network (EDN), and awarded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship is a powerful programme designed to prepare senior managers to:
- Drive strategic thinking and long-term planning
- Lead change and manage large teams and complex budgets
- Achieve a qualification equivalent to a Master’s degree (MBA-level)
If a learner is enrolled before the January 2026 deadline, the full cost can still be covered through the Apprenticeship Levy or co-investment funding.
EDN is on hand to simplify the process by checking eligibility, fast-tracking applications and securing funding before the changes take effect.
