The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education have recently launched the next exciting phase of T levels development, consulting on the suitability of T levels in hospitality and community exercise, physical activity, sport & health.
Designed with businesses and employers, T Levels are the technical equivalent to A Levels, combining classroom theory, practical learning, and an industry placement. They involve 80 per cent classroom-based learning, and 20 per cent on-the-job learning through substantial industry placements, and are equivalent to 3 A Levels.
The views of hospitality professionals are needed to best understand if this new pathway would be a welcomed addition to our suite of technical qualifications, and how feasible it would be for organisations and training providers to deliver this.
The Institute for Apprenticeship and Technical Education is gathering feedback through a survey, linked here, which is open to all and needs to be completed by Monday 15 March. We would like to invite our Members to take the survey. As we emerge from the pandemic we are particularly interested to hear how and if these pathways could support our economic recovery. Please do include your thoughts on this in your response to the consultation.
If you would like to give further feedback, please get in touch via employer.panels@education.gov.uk.
