Gender pay reporting requirement suspended for 2019/2020 due to coronavirus outbreak.

Equalities watchdog says it will not take action against businesses that do not submit data in 2020 to help lessen the burden on organisations responding to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Employers will not be required to report their 2019 data by the 30 March public sector deadline and 4 April private sector deadline.

In a joint statement, Minister for Women & Equalities, Liz Truss, and EHRC Chair, David Isaac, said:
“We recognise that employers across the country are facing unprecedented uncertainty and pressure at this time. Because of this we feel it is only right to suspend enforcement of gender pay gap reporting this year.”
