Clare, who is the Early Careers Lead at Sodexo UK and Ireland, worked tirelessly with IoH CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI to set up the IoH Youth Council in 2021. Hosting a range of events for students and younger hospitality members and actively hosting webinars and visiting universities to encourage young talent into the industry and the IoH.
Speaking about Clare’s contribution to the Council, Robert said: “Clare has been an incredible inaugural Chair and has helped shape our first-ever Youth Council to become a vibrant, enthusiastic, and focused group of talented hospitality individuals. She has left an amazing legacy that she can be proud of. I speak for everyone at the IoH when I say we will miss her insight and bubbly personality on the Youth Council and wish her the best of luck as she continues to focus on developing her career.”
Speaking about her time as Chair, Clare commented: “It’s been a privilege to work with Robert in helping launch the IoH’s first-ever Youth Council. I have loved every second of helping young people to Aspire in Hospitality and look forward to seeing what the council achieves next. I know I am leaving the role in safe hands with Katariina.”
Stepping up as IoH Youth Council Chair, Katariina Reissaar AIH, Front-office Manager at Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland, said: “I am so excited to expand on Clare’s legacy. Having worked with Clare since the beginning, I am so passionate about what we do and can’t wait to deliver some exciting activities this year with my fellow Council members.”
Clare, who is a Member (MIH), of the Institute, will continue to be part of our IoH Hospitality Family and remains a passionate advocate of the Institute’s work.
