IoH confirms endorsement for The Yacht Stew Academy luxury courses

The Institute of Hospitality has confirmed endorsement for six online hospitality training courses focused on luxury and the superyacht industry, offered by The Yacht Stew Academy.

The Academy which provides online hospitality training courses and support for interior crew members onboard superyachts, has received the Institute’s endorsement for courses at crew entry levels and at management level for those with extensive experience looking for vocational training within their chosen management field of the Chief Stew role.

The Institute’s endorsement of the six courses is for the Head of Service Diploma (40 hours), Advanced Interior Management (40 hours), entry-level training courses for crew without relevant experience within the yachting sector including Service Fundamentals (30 hours), and Junior Stew Interior Fundamentals (20 hours). Also general skills-based training courses for the luxury hospitality sector include Luxury Tea Service (15 hours), and Foundations of Mixology (10 hours).

The Professional Review Panel commended the programmes and, in particular:

• The design and content of the courses and the challenging and relevant assignments
• The clarity of the videos and text within the modules/courses
• The hierarchical nature of the courses which allows progression from beginner to Head of Service
• The quality of the email feedback provided for assignments
• The use of experts for the design of the shorter, specialist courses.
