Caterlink’s School Meals Earn Premier Hospitality Assured Status

24 August 2026

Caterlink, one of the UK’s leading education catering specialists, has achieved Premier Hospitality Assured status, recognising its commitment to delivering high standards of food and service, providing nutritious, appealing meals to thousands of children every day across its education catering operations.

Caterlink achieved Premier Hospitality Assured status following its 2026 assessment against the Hospitality Assured Standard for Service and Business Excellence. The assessment recognised the organisation’s continued commitment to customer experience, colleague engagement, operational performance and continuous improvement, alongside its focus on delivering high standards of food and service.

For Caterlink, this means putting the needs of pupils and school communities at the heart of its operations, while working within the practical realities of education catering to provide nutritious meals that children enjoy.

Hospitality Assured is a recognised quality standard created by the Institute of Hospitality specifically for the hospitality industry. Its framework examines an organisation across nine areas of business and service excellence, including customer research, service culture, leadership, operational management, resources, people development, performance evaluation, service recovery and continuous improvement.

Caterlink’s assessment included a review of its support operation and visits to schools, providing the opportunity to see how strategy and standards are translated into the day-to-day experience of pupils, schools and other stakeholders.

Achieving Premier status demonstrates a high level of performance against the Hospitality Assured framework and provides Caterlink with independent recognition of the systems, culture and practices supporting its service delivery.

Neil Fuller, Managing Director, Caterlink, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have achieved Premier Hospitality Assured status. This is a recognition of the passion, dedication and hard work of our colleagues across Caterlink, who go above and beyond every day to deliver great fresh food and outstanding service to the schools, pupils and stakeholders we support.

“Hospitality Assured is also an important opportunity for us to learn and grow. The independent assessment highlights the many things we do well, while helping us identify new ways to strengthen our offer and continue delivering the very best experience for our customers.”

Hospitality Assured Director Max Lawrence FIH said: “Caterlink demonstrated a strong and well-established approach to service and business excellence during this year’s assessment. What was particularly evident was the commitment of colleagues throughout the organisation and the importance placed on delivering for pupils and school communities.

“Premier Hospitality Assured status is a significant achievement and provides independent recognition of Caterlink’s approach, while the assessment process also gives the organisation a framework through which it can continue to challenge itself and develop,” concluded Max.

Caterlink specialises in education catering, providing food services to schools and colleges across the UK. Its approach places quality, responsible sourcing, sustainability and the needs of school communities at the heart of its service.

The business works closely with schools to develop food offers that encourage pupils to enjoy balanced, nutritious meals, while also working within the financial and operational constraints of school catering and supporting wider educational, environmental and community objectives.

The challenge of providing good food to children at scale is one that requires more than simply putting a meal on a plate. It relies on skilled and committed teams, effective operational management, strong relationships with schools and a continual focus on understanding what pupils want to eat while maintaining nutritional standards.

Caterlink’s Premier Hospitality Assured status provides independent recognition of the systems and culture supporting that work, and of the organisation’s commitment to continually improving the experience it provides for pupils and school communities.
