Reading this edition of our magazine you will notice some changes: a more distinctive design, a 25% increased page count, video content for those of you viewing this digitally and a new name ‘Institute of Hospitality’ which aligns our publication more closely with the Institute.
In the spirit of the Institute’s aim to educate, in this edition we tackle two thorny issues. The first is an article on recruitment and retention covering how employers, using out of the box thinking, can overcome the massive skills shortage that has long been a problem for our industry, but has now reached crisis point. The second is Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), which have acquired an appalling reputation as gagging orders but are, in fact, a tried, tested and often necessary part of many commercial transactions. We lift the lid on their true identity.
The Institute is working towards achieving Chartership, a process that involves considerable attention to detail and investment of time and effort, and which will ultimately pay dividends both for our industry and for our members, and as such, we take a deep delve into the subject of Chartership for professional organisations.
