Frontline Focus is part of our 2026 Year of Excellence and asks the questions that matter to people working on the front line of hospitality.
For our September Frontline Focus, our members voted on the question they wanted answered by an industry expert.
The question with the most votes was: What makes a team training session actually effective?
This question explores what makes team training meaningful and effective in a busy hospitality environment. It looks at how training can engage team members, provide practical learning they can apply in their roles, and ultimately make a positive difference to both the team and the guest experience.
To find out more, we paid a visit to The Westbury in the heart of Dublin to ask their Hotel Manager, Aaron Logan FIH – Chair of the Institute’s Northern Ireland Region, to share his thoughts.
See what Aaron had to say on team training in the video below.
Look out for next month’s email survey and get involved. Your vote helps shape the questions we ask throughout the 2026 Year of Excellence.
