17 March 2025

On 3rd March 2025, the ‘Listen for Life’ campaign was officially launched at the renowned Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, marking a significant advancement in hearing conservation within the hospitality and cultural sectors.

This initiative, supported by the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA), Specsavers, the World Health Organization (WHO), aims to address the pressing issues of hearing loss and tinnitus among industry professionals and patrons.

The campaign focuses on three primary objectives: Raising awareness by educating both the public and industry professionals about the risks of hearing loss and preventive measures; Providing protection through the introduction of innovative solutions, such as clinically trialled filtered earplugs, which reduce harmful noise levels while maintaining sound clarity; and Enhancing testing by advocating for early detection via improved hearing test procedures to prevent long-term damage.

The campaign’s launch event featured notable figures from the music and hospitality industries, underscoring the collective commitment to promoting hearing health. By signing the ‘Listen for Life’ Charter, businesses can access resources designed to safeguard hearing health, including specialized education developed in partnership with HELA and cutting-edge hearing testing services.

The Institute of Hospitality recognises the importance of this initiative and encourages members to engage with the ‘Listen for Life’ campaign to ensure a healthier, more informed workforce and clientele.
