Marlyn Brunke AIH, Lizzie Grundy AIH, Sofia Mayr AIH, Mayank Miglani AIH, Harsh Sodhani AIH and Maevelline Umayam AIH have joined our existing committee members Jupiter Humphrey-Bishop AIH, Nathaniel Morales MIH, Siann Rann MIH and Jasmine Zaman AIH as part of the IoH’s 2024 strategy to engage more young people and excite them about a career in hospitality.
Founded in 2021, the Youth Council is chaired by Katariina Reissaar MIH, alongside vice-chair Marco De Simone MIH.
On welcoming the new extended team, Robert Richardson FIH MI, said: “Belonging matters. When I first came on board as CEO of the Institute of Hospitality in 2021 it was important to me that we increased the representation for aspiring and entry level talent within our organisation, and with that our Youth Council was the first thing I pitched at my interview stage.
“To say I have been overwhelmed by the response, and reaction to it is an understatement, and I would like to congratulate the new Youth Council members to the committee and the wider Institute team. This group of young professionals impressed us all during what was quite a comprehensive selection process with their passion and determination and we can’t wait to work with them. They are joining an amazing group of people and I know great things are in store for 2024.”
Katariina Reissaar MIH added: “I am so excited to be working with our new committee members. We’ve already been throwing around ideas and their enthusiasm is just infectious. Watch this space!”
