The 31st Council for Hospitality Management Education (CHME) Annual Research Conference hosted by the Hotel Management School, NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden, took place on 23-26 May 2023.
The conference theme was ‘Game-changers in the hospitality industry and education’ and the winning paper was entitled: SME Tourism Entrepreneurs: Why Do They Do What They Do? The Influence of Value Orientations and Motivations on Implemented Sustainability Measures and was written by Dr Femke Vrenegoor from the Hotel Management School, NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands, of which the IoH proudly sponsored the award.
The research paper tested the influence of value orientations and motivations on the sustainability measures implemented by SME tourism entrepreneurs. It used unique survey data from 344 respondents in the Netherlands.
