IoH confirms accreditation for Manchester Metropolitan University

The IoH has awarded accreditation for five years to Manchester Metropolitan University for their undergraduate degree programmes in international hospitality business management, and international hospitality and tourism management.

The programmes are designed to provide a full range of operational and managerial disciplines to develop students’ skills and knowledge for a range of career opportunities in the global hospitality and tourism industries. Units of study combine academic theory, research, international exposure and current industry practice with students’ real-life experiences in the workplace.

The Professional Review Panel commended the programmes and, in particular:

• the commitment to industry collaboration
• the opportunity for placement learning and work experience
• the further opportunity for professional awards to enhance the students’ skills
• the professional opportunities available both prior to placement and post-graduation.

Christopher Mitchell, Principal Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University said: “We are thrilled that our courses are accredited by the Institute of Hospitality. We strive to ensure that our students see the value of our relationship with the IoH, lifelong learning and professionalism and this is reflected in our commitment to inspire and educate the future leaders in the Hospitality and Tourism sector.”
