IoH confirms endorsement for Butlin’s Chef Academy Programme

The Institute of Hospitality has confirmed endorsement for the Butlin’s Chef Academy Programme offered by Butlin’s at their three large seaside resorts in Bognor Regis, Minehead, and Skegness.

As a market leader in family holidays, Butlin’s has been entertaining the nation for more than 75 years, promising endless fun and entertainment for all age groups. Alongside family breaks, it also offers Butlin’s Big Weekenders, exclusively for adults, and offers its corporate clients a unique conference and event location providing accommodation, entertainment and hospitality, including gala dinners, all under one roof. A team of more than 4,500 welcome around 1.5 million guests each year across the three resorts.

The Butlin’s Chef Academy Programme is aimed at both internal and external applicants seeking to develop their careers as a chef whose attitude matches Butlin’s company values. The 12–18-month programme aims to produce Level 2 Production Chefs who will be highly skilled in the operation of Butlin’s restaurant brands, be focused on reducing food waste and costs, and will contribute to the overall environmental impact at the resorts. The programme provides learners with the opportunity to gain a Level 2 Production Chef Apprenticeship and be awarded the Butlin’s Chef Academy Certificate of Completion.

The Professional Review Panel commend the programme, and in particular:

• the support of senior and experienced managers within Butlin’s to introduce the programme
• the trainers who have substantial teaching experience
• the detailed planning that has gone into the design of all aspects of the programme
• the quality of the materials that have been prepared to support the learners
• the use of a Buddy system to support learners
• the thoroughness and detail of the Record of Assessment documents
