In our I’m In Podcast special edition ‘one year on’, Phil Street FIH was joined by Katariina Reissaar AIH, Paresh Vara MIH and Stephen Carter FIH.
Cast your minds back to Tuesday 6 July 2021. It was the day of the IoH AGM. At the end of formal proceedings, Phil was lucky enough to have a chat with three wonderful members from within the IoH on why they said “I’m In”. They were Katariina Reissaar AIH, Paresh Vara MIH and Stephen Carter FIH. Back then, the I’m In podcast didn’t even exist. How things change.
One year on, Phil welcomes them back to see how the year has mapped out for them and whether they are enjoying the direction of travel into 2022.
As always, Phil asked our guests for their reasons as to why they said I’m in which included:-
- They love the dynamic direction it is heading in
- They use the membership as a means to learn
- Networking
- Mentoring programme
- Live events
- Personal development
One year on and our guests had the following to say:-
- There has been huge personal evolution in that time, there have been changes for all of us
- The Youth Council is now up and running
- This Podcast is now up and running
- Previously Stephen wanted to see a move to more events away from London – Achieved through a magnificent Chairpersons dinner in Edinburgh
- Engagement is up, there’s the belief that direction is positive and that foundations are strong
- There’s a better all-round voice reflecting the membership
- Paresh loved that events have been strong and that you can now watch panel discussions on demand if you can’t make the actual event.
- Membership is up by around 1500 people
- More involvement from the next generation
- There’s a great togetherness
- A big push for chartered status
