As the Institute moves towards its aspiration for Chartered status, the new structure for England will allow it to be more inclusive. Its aim is to attract existing and new talented members from all levels and backgrounds to apply to volunteer and help develop the new network.
“Achieving Chartered status for the Institute is a long and intense journey, but it is hoped this change will be a step further toward a successful outcome” confirmed Wendy Sutherland MBA FCMI FIH Vice-chair of the IoH Supervisory Board.
“The Institute is on a long journey, and we want to thank all our existing branch chairs and committee members for their dedicated service and enthusiasm over the years. It has brought us to this point, and we now need to look to the future. The IoH Board is committed to securing the future of the Institute and making it more accessible to its members and the hospitality industry. We hope all those dedicated to our industry and excited about the IoH’s direction of travel will apply to be part of our new evolved network” Wendy concluded.
In its aspiration for chartered status the IoH has already received weighty support from influencers within the hospitality industry:
Harry Murray MBE FIH – “The hospitality industry is facing huge staffing challenges as global tourism continues to grow at an enormous pace. To help support this challenge the role and status of the Institute of Hospitality have never been more important since it was established in 1938.
“As a founder parent of the Master Innholders in 1978, the IoH has made huge strides during the past year under the direction of CEO Robert Richardson. Robert has established a diverse, inclusive, and inspirational team and has re-energised and inspired the IoH Branches.
