We have heard with sadness that Peter Bramich FIH has passed away after an illness.
Peter joined the HCIMA as a student at Birmingham College of Food & Arts (now University College Birmingham) in 1964 and remained active in the Institute throughout a busy hotel career culminating in the role of General Manager of the Brighton Metropole before purchasing the Deans Place Hotel in Alfriston in 1997.
He was our President 2006 -2007, overseeing the transition of our name change from HCIMA, after which he became Chairman of our Executive Council.
Many members will remember Peter as an enthusiastic chairman of the Sussex branch, where under his leadership it gained a reputation for the excellence of its social events as well as its role promoting continued professional development. He remained involved up until his final illness as Chairman of our Fellowship & Ethics panel.
Our thoughts are with his wife Jan, his family and many friends.
