Corney & Barrow wine merchants have been supplying wine since 1766. Our portfolio of over 1400 wines includes some of the world’s most famous names, many under exclusive agency, including Petrus and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, as well as a wide range of everyday drinking wines.
In 1994, Corney & Barrow’s Scottish operation merged with Whighams of Ayr. Their 1766-built cellars were constructed for the sole purpose of storing imported wines, ports, and sherries, shipped on the company-built vessels, which plied their trade around Europe. These cellars are still in use today for long-term customer reserve storage and their history is still very much in evidence.
Relationships are at the heart of all we do and our experienced account managers will visit you to help with wine list creation, staff training and organising wine events. We also have a Scottish warehouse distributing to Scotland’s most respected hospitality businesses from golf resorts and Michelin star restaurants to supper clubs and neighbourhood restaurants.
Longstanding connections with suppliers and producers mean that we can guarantee the provenance of the wines we sell and we can often introduce our customers to the winemakers themselves when they visit the UK.
We tend to work with smaller producers who are very aware of their environmental impacts. These producers practice a range of sustainable farming methods and we encourage and support their efforts to make sure we can both leave a positive legacy for future generations. All our wines are sustainably farmed as a minimum.
From fine wine to bistro favourites, every delicious bottle we represent tells a story of passion, dedication, and commitment, and most of them are exclusive to Corney & Barrow.
