More about WRAP and profit through reducing food waste 2019-02-11T10:23:41+00:00

Following on from the successful interest of our ‘Topic of the Month’, September 2018 post: Profit through reducing food waste, we have decided to re-champion WRAP’s vision by giving you more about the topic.

This month, we have partnered with Eleanor Morris, Special Advisor in Hospitality Food Service, at WRAP, to  collaboratively produce a series of informative resources, specifically for the industry.  Our New Management Guide: Addressing Food Waste: case studies for the Hospitality Industry and our  Webinar: Food Waste: Target, Measure Act – What When Why,  shows how YOU can get involved to unite in the food fight waste.

WRAP’s  (Waste and Resources Action Programme’s) vision is of a world in which resources are used sustainably.

Working with all four UK Governments, WRAP has identified that the hospitality and food service sector is in a strong position to make a considerable contribution to reducing edible food waste.

In direct support of their mission and as a signatory to WRAPS Courtauld Commitment 2025, we are again promoting WRAP’s ‘Your Business is Food; don’t throw it away‘ range of materials.

Your Business is Food; don’t throw it away‘.

This guidance toolkit, by WRAP, not only encourages good practice but also means you are able to directly contribute to reducing waste and promoting sustainability within the industry.

Your business is food – starter guide is designed to help your business save money and boost profits. These simple steps and resources will help you reduce the amount of food thrown away by engaging staff and customers

Your business is food – poster is a great addition to a food business’s noticeboard. It will be a reminder to staff of the importance the business places on food thrown away, and shows them how they can help

Your business is food – 7 day tracking sheet helps food businesses to easily monitor and measure food thrown away over a 7 day period. And there is a free calculator for you to download to see exactly where your food waste is coming from, so that you can take action to reduce it or use Unilever Food Solutions’ free online Wise up on Waste tool.

Your business is food – summary checklist helps staff in food businesses with a handy way of ticking off their progress on the necessary actions to prevent food from being thrown away.
