Take part in our new series of business webinars
To overcome boundaries of time and geography, the Institute of Hospitality is running a series of compelling free webinars which are guaranteed to help you run your business better. The webinars are hosted by experts in their fields and cover a number of timely topics directly relevant to hospitality professionals, including pensions auto-enrolment, food labelling, mobile marketing, social media, online distribution and food waste.
- The webinar format enables you to listen to a presentation by one of our expert speakers on your computer in the comfort of your own home or office. You can also participate by asking questions plus receive follow-up material.
- No special equipment is needed, just a computer with a good internet connection. If not already part of your computer, you will also need speakers (or headphones) and a microphone (if you wish to ask questions).
- The webinars take place on Tuesday afternoons at 3pm from December 2013 to February 2014. Each webinar will last 30 to 45 minutes.

Passion 4 Hospitality - HOTS Hotel Business Game Competition – Call for Entries
P4H 2014 promises to be an exciting event as it includes the usual Student Debating Competition, open to EMS establishments to register a team to compete for a place in the live final debate; a careers forum, and new for 2014, an inaugural UK Business Game Competition where participants will compete against rival teams using an interactive hospitality simulation programme to manage a virtual hotel business. The UK Business Game is open to EMS students and also Professional teams from industry but the team members must be Members of the IoH to be eligible to compete.

P4H Student Debating Competition
EMS Teams entering the student debating completion will be invited to submit a 2 minute video on an agreed topic which will be considered by a panel of judges, from which a shortlist will be drawn up for teams to go to the next stage to compete for a place in the live final on 17th March 2014.
UK Business Game
The competition begins with online heats, with the winners progressing to the live final at the Passion 4 Hospitality (P4H) event on 17th March 2013, at University College Birmingham.

Each team will manage a hotel property within the virtual environment and be tasked with making successful business decisions in all operational areas.
The competition winners will receive an award, along with a stunning prize awarded by one of our hospitality partners.

On Monday 9th June the Institute of Hospitality is holding its AGM/Annual Lunch and Hospitality Assured Awards at The Royal Garden Hotel, 2-24 Kensington High Street, London, W8 4PT. We will be hosted by Graham Bamford FIH. Graham has extensive experience at a very senior level in some of the finest hotels, both in the UK and abroad, so we are guaranteed to be served a lunch of the finest quality.
