Picking up the Pieces Part 2
17 September, 2020, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree - £10
This September, Dr. Hilary Cooke FIH will be presenting two webinars with IoH from the book Picking up the Pieces, a guide for leaders in the Hospitality Industry in a post-crisis world.
This COVID crisis has ensured that the world of work will be different in the future and there is much that is still uncertain, but the pressure of people looking to their leaders for guidance is intense. For both opening and future operating there is a big management responsibility from a customer and operations perspective and it is vital that along with all the practical management of the operational aspects we are able to exhibit strong and coordinated leadership as we forge our way forward.
We are in a fast-moving state of change and if ever there was a time for a clear and well-formed strategy to lead your people to deliver the operational plans and guide the business back to health, it is now.
Picking up the Pieces Part 2
- A practical framework for creating a robust Leadership Strategy
- Six different perspectives to consider and align
- Practical ideas for implementation
- Create a practical leadership strategy for yourself and your team
- Consider the multiple aspects of leadership in this context
- Use these to be a more effective leader
Who should attend:
- Anyone who has a leadership role. Team leaders, Heads of Department, Hotel Managers, Operations Managers, General Managers, Senior Executives, HR and L&D people
- Anyone who has an interest in why we feel and behave in the way that we do.

Feedback from delegates at Part 1 of this event
Thank you for a great webinar. It has helped me to stay focused during these uncertain times and I love the positivity being shared. I am looking forward to attending part 2! – Heike Melzer MIH, Assistant Manager, Lancaster Hall Hotel
Thank you for such a refreshing webinar. Rather than listening to how Covid-19 has affected businesses from a financial and operational perspective, you are giving us the opportunity to understand how as an individual emotionally we are affected, how our staff are affected and how we can support each other. This is something that we do not often have in place as a business, especially hospitality, which can often be fast paced, and often not enough time. An interesting point for us to look at what might be the driving factors behind a person’s motivation and how this correlates to our current world. Absolutely love “New Beginning” – rather than the new normal. Brilliant! – Kristyn Mitchell MIH, Director, Outsource Events
