WCG (formerly known as Warwickshire College Group) is one of the largest general further and higher education college groups in the UK, providing high quality education and training for individuals and organisations at a local, regional, national and international level.
The group has seven colleges – Royal Leamington Spa, Rugby, Moreton Morrell, Pershore, Evesham, Malvern Hills and Warwick Trident, with over 17,000 students and 1,500 members of staff. It offers more than 1000 courses across 20 different subject areas and is renowned for its specialisms in land-based education, engineering, creative arts and digital.
WCG works in partnership with a diverse range of local and national employers across industry and is the largest college provider of apprenticeship training in the region. It is currently training around 2,500 apprentices each year from more than 1100 employers ranging from Jaguar Land Rover, BT Fleet Solutions, The National Trust, AGCO, and Aston Martin, along with a large number of small businesses.
One of WCG’s current key strategic developments is the creation of the Moreton Hall Hotel Training School. The development will bring a much loved regional landmark in the grounds of Moreton Morrell College back to life following a devastating fire in 2008. The vision is to transform it into a boutique country house hotel which will operate as a commercial business alongside becoming a centre of excellence for training a skilled workforce for the region’s growing visitor economy.
The college group offers a variety of hospitality-focused apprenticeships and further education courses in tourism, destination management, events, hospitality and professional catering.
