Mike Duckett MBE FIH wins BBC Food & Farming Award

Mike Duckett MBE FIH, the former head of catering at the Royal Brompton hospital, London, has won the prestigious Derek Cooper Award in the BBC Food and Farming Awards.
The award, named after the BBC's pioneering food journalist, recognises the work of individuals and organisations who have helped promote good, healthy and delicious food.Duckett has led the way in improving the quality of public catering across the UK, and his work is now followed by governments throughout Europe.
The Food & Farming Awards were held at the NEC, Birmingham on Wednesday 28 November and the winners were announced on Friday 30 November during a special awards edition of the BBC Radio 4 Food Programme.
Earlier this year Duckett brought together a group of NHS foodservice professionals to debate the way forward for hospital food. The Institute of Hospitality's chief executive Philippe Rossiter FIH was invited to chair the debate and it was reported in Hospitality Magazine. Read the article here
