Chief Executive of the Institute of Hospitality to speak at The International Hotel Investment Forum
The International Hotel Investment Forum 2010, held from 14th-16th June 2010 at The Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel, Macau, offers three days of business-generating networking and stimulating programming with over 350 industry leaders participating.
Philippe Rossiter, chief executive of the Institute of Hospitality will be one of a number of specially selected speakers at this prestigious conference event where sessions have been designed to reflect a new, innovative and “refreshingly direct” emphasis on generating returns from hotel investments in Asia.
Philippe Rossiter says: “It was a privilege to be invited to speak at such a highly regarded and worldwide forum. The event allows CEO’s from all over the world linked to the hotel business to interact and use the event as a platform for business as well as somewhere to learn about and take away new ideas. I hope to give insight into the issue of sustainability – a challenge all hoteliers are currently facing. As well as discussing how to gain a competitive advantage and an improved bottom line, I look forward to offering the chance to discuss practical ways in which companies can continue to make changes.
“The International Hotel Investment Forum reflects regional and global risks and opportunities for the hotel investment communities through conducting interviews with leading hotel owners, designers, operating hoteliers and forecasts from top economists. Panel discussions are also held on the latest developments, trends and best practice in the hotel industry and the investment arena.”

Institute of Hospitality Head of Information Services Janine Mills predicts UK Hotel Performance in 2009 as well as 2007!
Janine Mills, head of information services of the Institute of Hospitality accurately predicted an occupancy of 72.9% and AARR (annual average room rate) of £96.75 for the UK hotel market, which works out as an average yield of £68.89. The prediction had a difference of 1.2% in average yield and less than £1.
Beating off fierce competition from City analysts and hotel advisory firms, the Institute’s head of information services Janine Mills gazed into her crystal ball at the start of last year and her most accurate prediction was revealed and celebrated at the launch of PKF’s annual statistical publication Hotel Britain last month.
Commenting on her uncanny knack of foreseeing the future, Janine said: “I didn’t use any fancy analytical skills, I simply saw what was happening in the UK and, more importantly I saw the ongoing economic fallout in the US every time I visited my parents. This was supplemented by viewing industry news and data on a daily basis, a large part of my job. Consequently, I got a general sense of where the industry is headed.”
"To get it right once could be considered a fluke, but twice amounts to a ringing endorsement of the excellent information resources and industry intelligence which is available to our members,” said Philippe Rossiter, chief executive of the Institute of Hospitality.
