Thistle Hotels is unique in that all of its 31 hotels have successfully completed Hospitality Assured, the customer service excellence standard created by the Institute of Hospitality.
On selecting Thistle for the award, the AA judging panel was particularly impressed with how the hotel group has successfully kept its focus on the guest experience and developed teams in a way that delivered this commitment genuinely and passionately.
AA Hotel Services manager, Simon Numphud, said: “Thistle Hotels has significantly improved their overall product and service offering over the last eighteen months. Achievements such as full Hospitality Assured accreditation, Tourism For All audits, increasing standards particularly in hospitality and service combined with ongoing significant refurbishment have all impressed. All these things made them a deserving choice as winner of this award.”
Institute of Hospitality President Peter Lederer CBE FIH MI was also recognised on the night with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
